What Is Direct Admission?
Basically, there are two types of engineering courses that are available. The first is a three-year post-secondary diploma that is known as the Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE). This diploma is offered in different fields of engineering such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electronic Engineering.

Polytechnics
Polytechnics in Singapore run a variety of admissions exercises. The most common are the Early Admissions Exercise and the Direct Admissions Exercise. A student who is eligible for a course through one of these is not necessarily eligible for the same course through the other. However, applicants with the same qualification may apply for a different course under the Adult Learners Scheme.
To qualify for an offer from a polytechnic, an applicant must have attained a qualification before the new academic year begins. Some examples include the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level or the Singapore-Asia University Examination. In order to meet the minimum entry requirements of the course, the applicant will have to submit proof of qualification in the form of a non-returnable examination permit.
Polytechnics also run an aptitude-based admissions exercise namely the Direct School Admissions – Junior College Exercise. Similar to the EAE, the DSA-JC exercise is designed to weed out students who would otherwise be unable to cope with the rigorous curriculum of a polytechnic education. This is a useful tool for international students, who will be admitted into a Polytechnic under the auspices of the government.
A polytechnic will use the above-mentioned to make the decision to accept a candidate into a particular programme. For each JC, a candidate is permitted to take up one offer per exercise. If a student decides to accept two offers in one exercise, he or she must then cancel the offers before the Offer and Acceptance stage. Although the application period is relatively short, the student will still have to complete a formal 8-week Polytechnic Preparatory Program.
As with any of the admissions exercises, applicants are advised to check out the website of the polytechnic they are interested in to find out more. Choosing the right courses is essential to a successful college or university career. With so many options available, it is important to choose a course that is the best fit for your talents and ambitions. While this is a daunting task, there are a number of resources available online to help students make the best choice.
UC
The University of Cincinnati has announced a waiver of the ACT test for applicants to their 2023 and 2024 college classes. This has eased the burden on high school seniors. However, the benefits of the new program are limited to the lucky few.
While the university has not rolled out the test-optional policy across all of its campuses, it does offer a one-time application fee reduction to qualified students. That’s about $70 per campus. You can apply to more than four campuses, but that price increases to around $170.
Other notable accomplishments include a pilot project that has 66 students testing the waters. It’s the first of its kind at the UC and is designed to help students get started in their college careers.
There’s no question that the University of Cincinnati has done a great job of inclusion. The admissions committee is tasked with selecting candidates with unique traits and experiences. Aside from the aforementioned test-optional policy, they have also implemented a number of policies to aid veterans, locals, and international students.
While the university hasn’t officially rolled out a direct admission exercise yet, it’s likely to happen. As with all of the university’s academic programs, there are numerous options to choose from. In addition to the aforementioned waived fee program, there are several perks to matriculating at UC, including a slew of scholarships.
In order to make the most of a UC education, it’s important to get the appropriate application materials in order before you start filling out your application. For example, you’ll want to have your official high school transcripts and any ACE or SMAART scores ready to go. Similarly, if you’re a military veteran, you’ll need to submit your military transcripts before you can even start taking the aforementioned SATs.
To find out what all of this means for you, be sure to check out the UC website for more information. You’ll definitely want to read up on their offerings and the campus in your hometown to find the best fit. By doing so, you’ll be on your way to a bright future.
UD
Direct admission is a program that enables students to complete a major at a college or university with little or no pre-requisite courses. Applicants to the program must meet certain criteria, and they may be matched with a faculty advisor who can guide them through the process.
Students are encouraged to explore various fields and explore different ideas before committing to a major. For example, a student may be interested in nursing, architecture, or pharmacy. While all these majors have high admission standards, the degree requirements can vary from school to school. If the student wants to enroll in these programs, it is important to know the exact course requirements and deadlines.
Interested students must apply for undergraduate admission by December 1 of the year before enrollment. They should also submit SAT or ACT scores. Candidates for direct admission are evaluated by the university’s advising staff and are then matched with an advisor who can help them through the application process. It is best to consult an advisor early, so that they can determine what courses to take and what requirements to meet. The student will then begin taking courses toward the desired major.
UD offers a variety of academic options, and students can work with an expert advisor to determine which programs will suit them. In addition, students can choose to combine their major with a minor. These programs can be extremely rewarding. Some majors, such as nursing, require heavy work in the sophomore year. Other majors, such as engineering, can have more room for growth. By working with an expert, students can identify their strengths and interests, and find a major that fits them well.
UB’s Direct Admissions Program is a program that aims to attract high-achieving undergraduates from UB. To qualify, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and an SAT or ACT score that is at least 85th percentile. Direct admission is also accepted if a student has taken courses in a world language that they are proficient in. A student with advanced standing can also complete a few general education requirements earlier, allowing them to graduate sooner.
